This year’s conference boasts a number of events, including networking receptions, visits to local architecture firms, walking tours, visits to local exhibitions, and, of course, several conference talks and workshops.

Welcome to Chicago! This is a town for architecture lovers. There’s so much to do and see here that we strongly encourage you to go out and explore. We have many options on tap for you, from boutique offerings to popular favorites, downtown to out of town, some are even free. Come a day early or stay a day late and explore them all.

A chance to meet your fellow Conference attendees and take in the newly opened Chicago Architecture Center—20,000 sq. feet (1,858 sq. meters) of galleries and program space cleverly set inside the final building by the Office of Mies van der Rohe. Drinks and plentiful hors d’oeuvres will be served, and we’re pleased to welcome Maurice Cox, Commissioner of Planning and Development for the City of Chicago, for opening remarks.

Staff from the Chicago Architecture Center are ready to take you to their favorite restaurants around town. Dutch treat. Hosts will provide several options that are within easy walking distance from the Opening Reception, as well as some adventures out to far-flung corners of the city.
